I
gotta say if you haven't read this series your missing out on a wonderful
experience. I loved the characters and the western atmosphere. I grew up reading Louis L'Amour and have many of his books on my shelf just falling apart from being read over and over. To be able to read a similar western genre with the lesbian twist is infinitely-stupendously- utterly-fantastically-better (ISUFB) in 1000's of ways. Mickey gave me (and you) a real treat. Her characters are living the American traditions of the old west and they are simply endearing to the reader as soon as you meet them. If you've ever read the Sackett's series by Louis L'Amour and you remember those 27 books of cowboys, cowgirls, and their total commitment to family and love, you'll recognize the same premise in Mickey's series of books. Jesse and Jennifer Branson, two women who live in the Montana Territory of the late 1800s are a historical 'family' that make a difference back in the days. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. DO NOT SKIP READING THIS SERIES. You may just find your favorite genre turns out to be the old west with girls in boots. JLNicky- August 2006 |
